Job Application

Alright, so this afternoon I applied for a position as a freelance blogger in the area of politics, indicating my preference being social political commentary. They asked for a sample, so I did some quick thinking and wrote a short article on Deval Patrick's thought on the bailout idea, so here it is:

Governor Deval Patrick announced via a blog post last week that he has mixed-feelings on the bailout bill. He understands the need to save insurance companies such as AIG, but also see that tax payers need protection from this crisis as well. It only fits that there are misgivings about the bailout plan. 700 billion may as well be a blank check, and there is not a guarantee the government could earn it all back through the troubled properties they receive. On top of that, it is the American tax payers who are paying for this plan, and it is such a large number tax payers will be paying this off for years to come unless the government is able to sell these properties for a profit. Though it isn't impossible, it is certainly valid concern, as the nation is already has such a large debt. A bailout plan should go forward, but tax payer protection, and market place regulation, are key so that tax payers are not stuck footing the bill for greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street.
