Palin Refuses to Cooperate with Investigation

Sarah Palin has decided not to cooperate with the investigation now underway as to whether or not she abused her gubernatorial powers. What an about face coming from the straight-talk express. Now she is claiming Obama's campaign has 'politicized' the issue.

Now, this begs the question, how does his campaign politicize the issue when a) a republican-dominated legislature approved an investigation with bi-partisan support and b) the investigation began BEFORE she was selected as McCain's running mate? Now people may say that the investigators are democrats and de facto Obama supporters, therefore they will look harder and with more scrutiny to find something. To that I simply have to say: So what? Isn't that a good thing? Any wrong doing by a public official, espescially involving corruption charges, ought to be investigated thoroughly without question! A few weeks ago Palin herself said she had "nothing to hide."

So much for her joining McCain on the straight talk express (not that he's done much of that lately either given his most recent attack ad against Obama). My question is- if you have nothing to hide, why not cooperate and allow the probe to continue? It simply makes the Democrats look like desperate fools when nothing turns up and you have the trust of the American people for cooperating and being cleared of the charges levied against you. She has nothing to gain by switching positions and everything to lose if the report finds something without her cooperation, espescially since the results will be released less than a week before election day. Guess it goes to show you can put lipstick on an elephant, but at the end of the day its still in the room.

EDIT (3:50PM):

Allies of Sarah Palin are now suing to try to end the probe into whether or not Sarah Palin abused her power in the firing of a state police chief. Five Republican state legislators filed the suit and are asking a judge to halt the suit accusing the investigators of being unable to balance their political views and alliances with a need for finding the truth.

Unbelievable, absolutely ridiculous.
